As co-founder of A Shade Above, Ross continues his search for high-end, aesthetically pleasing products that are easy to use.
John's first career goal was to be an engineer. Similar to Ross, John realized in college that an the degree he was pursuing, engineering, wouldn't make him happy. However, figuring out how things work and how they can work better is one aspect of engineering he continues to embrace. As co-founder of A Shade Above, John continues his quest to find cutting-edge home products that are high-end functional.
Jeff started his love affair with home automation providing the basic services— lighting, intercoms, and security—but with the assignment of programming the integrated systems to work. He'll be happy to tell you about the latest innovations beyond the basics, how you can create a seamless living environment, and how to operate it all at the touch of a stress-free button. At A Shade Above, Jeff oversees all operations and projects, serves as the central point of contact for field and corporate alliances, and happily provides estimates to fit client needs.
Bob has spent his entire professional career working in residential systems integration. After helping found and build one of the largest and most successful companies in the industry, Bob joined A Shade Above to lend his experience and expertise to help ensure a positive outcome on every project. He has distilled the design process down to its most critical components: Ease of Use, Reliability, Aesthetic Integration, and Performance. Bob has a knack for explaining complicated technology.
Design Consultant, Monterey Peninsula
Jack is a lifelong resident of Monterey County. With 28 years of experience in high end residential construction, Jack has a keen eye for design and aesthetics. Besides being the point man and client interface extraordinaire on numerous project, Jack is also the resident expert on Trufig. Jack works out of the Experience Center in Monterey.
Jay has been in the low voltage industry since 1986. What started as a "summer and part-time job" while attending college soon became his career choice. Although he has a BS Degree in Occupational Therapy, he decided to stick with his passion for electronics and continued to develop his skills and knowledge in the industry. Jay has years of experience both with identifying client's needs and designing systems. He also has years of hands on experience installing and programming the systems. Jay's client base recently outgrew his own company that he successfully had for the past six years. So, he chose A Shade Above to merge his skills, clients, and industry relationships.

Kevin brings an eye for details to each project with an emphasis on fit and function. His experience in system design enables him to move a project from architectural design through contractor coordination during construction.

Shawn honed his installation skills in the fiber communications / telecommunications industry before perfecting his skills in home automation installation. Shawn is proud to be a part of the team at A Shade Above because of their dedication to client satisfaction achieved through quality in their products, their installation, and customer support.
